What we collect, and what happens to it.

This site is operated by JeeCee International NV, trading as B-E-St Animal Health, at Vent 1a, 9968 Bassevelde, Belgium. VAT BE 0438.293.609. The controller for anything described below is that company, and the person who reads it is Jana Nemcova — jana@b-e-st.com.

The form asks for a name, an email address, a phone number if you give one, whether you are a rider or owner, a yard, or a professional, and how you would use the device. That is all it asks and all we keep.

Submissions are handled by Netlify Forms, the service that hosts this site, and are forwarded to jana@b-e-st.com. They are also held in the Netlify account, which is how we have a record of them without building one.

We use what you send to answer you, and to continue the conversation if you want one. We do not add it to a mailing list, sell it, or share it with anyone outside the company.

The lawful basis is your request: you are asking us to get in touch, and we hold what you sent for as long as that conversation is useful. Ask us to delete it and we will.

Ordering asks for more, because an order becomes an invoice. It takes a name, an email address, a country, and — if you give them — a phone number, a company or yard, and a VAT number. If you are adding programs to a device you already own it also asks for that device's ID, which is how the programs reach the right one. Anything typed into the notes field comes with it, along with the configuration you chose.

It goes the same way as an enquiry: Netlify Forms, forwarded to jana@b-e-st.com, and held in the Netlify account.

No payment is taken on this site. There is no checkout and no card details are asked for at any point — we put the order together, and an invoice follows by email.

The lawful basis is different from an enquiry. An enquiry is a request; an order is a contract we are carrying out, and the invoice that follows is an accounting record. Belgian law requires us to keep those for seven years, and that is not something we can delete on request. Everything else about an order we will delete if you ask.

There is no analytics on this site, no tag manager, no advertising pixel, and no consent banner — because there is nothing to consent to.

One cookie exists. If you log in to the manual, best_manual holds a signed record of your email address and an expiry so you are not asked again for thirty days. It is strictly necessary for the login to work, it is not readable by JavaScript, and it is not used for anything else.

Access to the manual is by an email address on an approved list plus a shared password. The address is checked against that list and stored in the cookie described above. Nothing about what you read there is recorded.

Netlify hosts the site and handles both forms. Netlify is a United States company, so submissions and the records kept in the Netlify account are processed outside the European Union as well as within it, under the terms of its data processing agreement. As the host it also keeps standard server logs of requests to this site.

Our email is provided by the company's own mail provider, and invoices are raised by the company's accounting software.

Nothing else on this site sends your data anywhere — the fonts are served from this domain rather than from a font service.

Under the GDPR you may ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, ask us to stop using it, or ask for a copy. Write to jana@b-e-st.com and we will do it.

There is one exception, and it is the accounting records described above. Once an order has been invoiced we are required to keep that record, and a deletion request cannot reach it.

If you think we have handled your data badly, you can complain to the Belgian Data Protection Authority, gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit.be.
