Muscles, Back, Neck & Pelvis
Back Muscles (Latissimus/Trapezius/Gluteal)
- Duration
- 19 min
When to reach for it
topline soreness, tight back under saddle, hindquarter muscle tension, after hard work
About this program
The big muscles of the back and hindquarter do the actual job of being ridden: they carry the saddle, lift the back and power every stride. They are also the first place hard work, a poor surface or a saddle problem shows up.
Consider this program when:
- the topline is sore or tight under saddle
- the hindquarter muscles have hardened after big work
- the horse braces its back instead of swinging
- as regular care in full training
Both sides are worked together. A back that stays sore despite muscle care needs saddle, teeth and vet checked — muscle is often the messenger, not the cause.
