Joints, Tendons & Ligaments
Desmitis LSR STaR
- Duration
- 18 min
When to reach for it
suspensory ligament strain, desmitis, hindlimb or forelimb suspensory injury
About this program
The suspensory ligament is the leg's spring — it carries the fetlock through every stride and gives the gait its bounce. Strains at its origin, body or branches are slow, deceptive injuries: the horse often looks better than the ligament is.
Consider this program when:
- a suspensory injury has been diagnosed and staged by the vet
- rehabilitation is past the acute phase and into controlled work
- a branch lesion needs long, patient support
- an old suspensory injury is managed through a working career
The whole apparatus is covered, origin to sesamoids. Progress is measured by re-imaging, not by how sound the horse looks.
