breathing rhythm and efficiency, stamina under work, ribcage and back tension, horses that tire early
About this program
Every breath a horse takes at canter is tied to its stride — and both run through the diaphragm, the big breathing muscle connecting ribcage, back and belly. When it holds tension, breathing turns shallow, stamina drops and the back stiffens with it.
Consider this program when:
- the horse tires earlier than its fitness suggests
- tension sits through the ribcage and back
- the breathing rhythm at work feels short or irregular
- rebuilding after a respiratory illness, once your vet is satisfied
Letting the breathing muscle release changes more than the breathing — posture, suppleness and staying power follow.
